Welcome to the first edition of the Encounter Experiences Pastport — a self-guided journey through 13 destinations and partners we've featured over the years on Encounter Singapore.
This isn't a typical souvenir. It's an invitation to step off the beaten path and into the stories behind the people who've kept Singapore's heritage alive — from a family-run optical shop with roots dating back to WWII, to a third-generation kueh chang stall that started under a banyan tree in 1945.
Each stop in the Pastport comes with:
- A short story on the people and history behind the place
- The address and contact details you need to visit
- An exclusive privilege — a discount, a free experience, or a gift — just for Pastport holders
Where you'll go:
- Lim Seah Seng Optical — heritage spectacle-maker since WWII
- Ho Tit Coffee Powder Factory — old-school coffee roastery, est. 1953
- Heng Suay Eating House — nostalgic Singapore-inspired merchandise
- Brauhaus Restaurant & Pub — Singapore's oldest German restaurant, est. 1989
- Pasarfish — wet market seafood heritage tours
- Kim Choo Kueh Zhang — Peranakan rice dumplings since 1945
- Old Habits Cafe — vintage toys, retro collectibles & cafe
- Seng Yew Bookstore — a Bras Basah "City of Books" institution since 1966
- Chen Soon Lee Book Stamp & Coin Centre — traditional Chinese art supplies since 1981
- Hidden Singapore — interactive puzzle-hunt city experiences
- Tanjong Rhu Pau — handmade paus since 1988
- Tatsu Maker Works — linocut prints of Singapore's food culture
- Alcohol Cartel — whisky masterclasses and tastings
